Over winter break (it is now spring), I decided to hell with creating new characters! I am just going to insert myself into different things. Because I feel that if I want to ever want to really live out my fantasy of becoming a Digidestined or Pokemon trainer, I had better damn well be direct about it.
So far, it's working out quite well.
So I spent several hours combing the Digimon Wiki and came across Dorumon, who has an uncanny resemblance to the FDD Digimon I attempted to create in elementary school (we won't talk about that). He was perfect. He was to be mine. We would go on awesome adventures in search of good food and be chased by monsters and it would be sweet.
Of course, I can't ever do anything without Sei/Timmy (I can't decide what to call him. Somehow, though, I think he can pull off two names at once). I almost made his hair black, because no Digimon character has ever had green hair - but hell, that just seemed like positively sacrilege. And Willis gets to come too because I've never been to Colorado and I was pretty much in love with him for at least a year of my relatively short life.
Artistically, I got to have some serious fun with composition and making this work, somehow, as well as work my brain around the severely limited number of quality markers that I own. Great success!
Oh my goodness this is very, very cute~ it's bringing me back plenty of nostalgic stuff about digimon (and FDD in general)
I'm liking the exuberant energy quite a lot with the bold, bright colors, borders on the bubbles, and well, solid coloring altogether.
I would like to point out to her (er.. your) left leg; it appears to be a bit short in comparison to her right uplifted leg. This proportional/anatomical error doesn't throw away any of the image's intended purpose, of course. However, seeing it in future works and repairing it prior to putting the ink and color can improve the image's foundation a bit. =]
Ha ha! Digimon Rocks! I used to watch that show all the time... I especially loved it when I would volunteer at the Zoo and digimon happened to be on the tiny breakroom TV when I would take my 30 minute break... I would make the other volunteers and my keeper watch it. It was awesome...
ANYWHO! About the piece I love the youthful excitement of the piece. The "Superfantastic Adventure is Go" is just engrish enough that I could see it being used on a japanese digimon poster or something. It's very very cute, and makes me smile as I recall my similar fantasies...

this is so -cute- omg. (I am finally clearing out my message box and I keep running into stuff I missed) I love the design for your.. uh. self? the boots are awesome. And you drew Willis again! And the whole layout really is crazy dynamic. :] I really like the inking, too -- making it bolder in places is a really nice effect.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
